Life After Racing Superstars

Renly has taught me so much and I’d hate to think of life without him.

Cardi became a member of my family back in the winter of 2019.

Bad Desire is an open show hack, that has won numerous champions at A&P level.

From our very first ride together to now, he has gone out of his way to look after me and be an absolute gentleman.

Once a racehorse, always a racehorse - “He likes to be up front, he’s a winner. ” 

He is one loyal horse and I wouldn't trade him for anything. He is my soul mate.

Bonnie Doon has taken to her life after racing like a duck to water.

Boom Gate enjoys pleasure riding at the forest, beach and trails.

Toby enjoys being part of the family and is always the first to greet you at the gate, especially if you have a feed bucket.

Burno has been to camp and he has had a lot of nervous people ride him. He really looks after people.

I am so glad I have found my heart horse and so glad its a Standardbred.

He is a gentle giant. He adores cuddles and pats.

With his super temperament and eager nature, Chuck is a star and I'm looking forward to having lots of adventures with him over the coming years.

A colorful character, Charley is yet to join the trekking team out and about.

Cheyenne and I both love walks, and she loves the quiet life.

Kat has a super brain, is super smart, is a quick learner and she has the kindest nature.  

Monz has aged like a fine wine. He is a real rare gem.

Hes a fun little horse who loves his job and I am so grateful to have him in my paddock.  

He has now jumped 1. 10m and holds himself very nicely

He is such a gentle soul and I use him for hacking and the odd pony club day.

My girl China is a real sweetheart and loves learning new things.

Tiny is a horse you can leave in a paddock for months and bring out to anything.

We are only at the beginning of our journey, but he has talent to burn.

Dusky loves to fall asleep laying down in his paddock on sunny days.

We learnt together and spent the next 20 years doing pony club and trekking the hills.  

We started competing in 2017 and got Reserve Champion at our very first inhand show.

Lyra had a lot going for her and we could see her potential. After only such a short period off the race track and under the saddle, she was doing so well, trying her best.

It seems that Annie is not only a "wee hack" but has taken a liking to competing in Barrel Racing.

This year Patch and I are show jumping 70-80cm and I can’t wait to see how far we can go together.

Seven won one race for me and then I retained her for showing.

Frank is a happy hacker and loves a good dip in the river.

Stevie and I trail ride, but also like barrels and cowboy challenges.

At a whopping 16. 3hh, he is a true gentleman of a giant.

She is sensitive but the kindest horse to ride. She has taught non horsey people to ride on the lead and particularly loves people with special needs.

Gouda just loves to plod.

The most decorated horse in the history of Olympic showjumping is a standardbred mare!  

Harold is such a dude and one in a million in my eyes.

She also loves to do stock work and hacking. She is a jack of all trades.

Hurricane Banner is still currently racing and has won eight races.

I just love this gentle giant.

Itchycoo Park, also called Inky is my newest wee show horse.

Kiel is such a super horse, so easy to have around but so full of personality.

Adam is  such an awsome boy with the quirkiest personality.

Macklemore has personality plus, and  loves his pet pig!

George was my number one show horse.

Laila has won multiple awards in the past two seasons.  

Kahu is the alpha of herd and charmer of many.

She is truely our best gift ever.

Lambourne Road (Herbie), won a number of Southern races and gave us all so much joy.

I have owned Tiger for seven years and he is my best friend.

I purchased Lars as a horse for my daughters to ride.

Jed's favourite trick is to push his backside into you for a scratch.   

Blackie has given me seven gorgeous foals.

I love this horse so much. He is a real mate and he's got a great work ethic. I'm proud of him and how he's adjusted to life after racing.  

Showing, dressage and hacking he’s just awesome.

He works for me in my riding school and loves being spoiled by all our cool little riders.

Linden has spent the last 20 years being a safe, reliable and much loved trekking horse.  

 

Since he’s been with us he’s been to pony club, shows, hacking and generally been amazing

Reggie's favourite pastime is rounding up the stock and chasing the farm bike when it's harrowing.

We love him dearly and are privileged to have him as part of the family.  

Max and I were also lucky enough to compete at the very first Battle of the Breeds, Standardbred vs Thoroughbred competition.

I have a wonderful old Standardbred who is still keen as mustard to get out and have an adventure.

Murray is my rock and my go too when ever I struggle in life.

I purchased Malak Alby from Stable to Stirrup.

I’ve had him 3 months so far, he’s been amazing to ride up the road, get out and just have fun on.

 Brondi is the most genuine mare I have ever had and will never let leave here.

Jonty AKA Super Jonty, is 23 years old (don't let the age fool you, he can still bust a move with the younguns)

Master Lavros loves his life after racing and it is my absolute mission to give him the best life possible, and the best life he truly deserves.

We came home with a neck full of ribbons at her very first show under saddle.

Vance was my go to horse for many years and he is now enjoying a lovely retirement.

Elmo is such a cool dude.

Monkey King is a true character and a credit to the Dancing on Moonlight team for the years of care they have provided him.  

Mo has personality plus and was an excellent babysitter to my newly weaned foals.

Pete's an utter joy to have around, he's taken living the 'life of Riley' very well.

I would love to do some Standardbred shows with her as she is stunning and has incredible paces.

Billie is my second Standardbred and I have well and truly fallen in love with the breed.  

Rusty has proven to be a star off the track.

He is particularly fond of small creatures, has his own pet cat, and recently took over the mothering role of an abandoned newborn lamb.

I had the endurance bug and George was right there with me as I moved up the distances.

He is extremely spoilt in his life after racing and has proven to be an excellent riding horse who is always out to please.

We are raising our granddaughter and she wanted to barrel race him. He tried so hard even though it wasn't his forte and he took such good care of her.

From competing in the show ring, to hunting and showjumping. There is nothing this wee pony can't turn his hoof to.

Richie is just the best horse ever, my one in a million pony who is definitely in his forever home.   

Reg has been to Browns Beach in Temuka, where he had an absolute ball running free.

He’s a cool wee horse with a bit of attitude to him, he loves to jump and hack out.

Run Fatboy Run was not only a superstar on the track but is a star in the show ring.

Smokey has now commenced training to become a trots clerk.

She has proven to be one of the most awesome ponies I have taken on. She is brave, bold and sassy.

Sparkles is the cuddliest thing when you get to know her and I'm glad to have been able to give her a second or third life.  

I use Rio as a hack and for all the beginners that want to learn how to ride.

My husband brought Bella in early 2015.

Ali was the first horse I bred for harness racing.

Jimmy is now entering a slower pace of life with semi retirement.

Stella is such a pleasure to have around. She's always so level headed, even when doing new things.  

Steen has come home with Multiple Champions.

Despite his success as a speedster, he is known as Mr Slowpoke.

Buster is super cheeky in the paddock.

She has one of the kindest temperaments ever and I am super lucky to have her!

Most of all Albert gave me my confidence back. He gave me endless hours of fun and has been my best friend for the past 16 years.  

Tad was never a superstar on the track but she is my superstar.

He’s one of a kind and we love the old boy to bits.

Mac had a successful racing career with 47 starts on the track before being retired in 2017.

Russell was very, very special to our family.

He is a stunning horse and despite being a bit of a grump most of the time there’s just something about him which makes me think I’ll keep him around.

Leroy has done a bit of everything. A lot of hacking and low level ribbon days and has won best trot numerous times. How's that for a pacer!  

He has been to Bill Noble dressage lessons with some amazing feedback on his movement and looks.

Maci was brought as a weanling to be my racehorse.

The Guardsman (first horse on the right) is part of the Mounted Police Team in Melbourne.

There was a moment that clicked and I just knew I'd keep him forever.

I got my boy, The Tin Soldier, now known as Kowhai in February 2021.

This tough little mare has won a race and was taken on as a hack by Shannon Armour, who started a riding life for Peanut.

I bought charlie at the End of April and he is the most amazing horse.

He is a gentle giant with a heart of gold.

This is just the beginning for Willis and I'm looking forward to seeing how far this little pocket rocket will go in life.

Wanda is now the beloved mount of our 13yr old daughter Liv.

I had Stoney for 13 years and did a bit of everything with him, from pony club to hunting.

I got Charlie in February, and between then and now, he has come along way.

This boy has the biggest heart and puts 110% effort and heart in at all the times.

The bond we share is amazing and I’m very lucky to have her.
