I have a wonderful old Standardbred who raced under the name Magic Morris.

I got him as a rising five year old off the track and broke him in to saddle myself. 

He is now 24 and while he is all but retired due to me having lack of time to do anything with him, he has been ridden everywhere you can imagine.The beach, river, lake, farm, forestry and suburbia. 

Despite his age he is still keen as mustard to get out and adventure where possible. Although he is one of the last horses I would call 'child safe' he manages to tolerate his very own mini human well and is happy to cart her around the paddock.
