Sunnys Sister soars in Seddon series
Dual Group 1 winner Sunnys Sister is now second on the Seddon Shield Summer Trotters' Series after her double at Nelson.
The Dunn-trained trotter won on both days at Richmond Park to now have 14 points in the series, just two behind the Michael House-trained Boyz Invasion, who's raced at Westport, Reefton and Nelson over the summer break.
Anna's Boy and Masterly, who both won at Westport just after Christmas, are next on 12 and 11 points respectively.
In its first year, the series, run by the Seddon Harness Racing Group, is at just over the halfway mark with four race days remaining.
They are at Marlborough on Friday and Sunday (January 19 and 21) and then Westport and Reefton in March.
Each leg of the series is worth between $15,000 and $20,000.
Points for each race will be allocated as follows:
1st – 7 points
2nd – 5 points
3rd – 4 points
4th – 3 points
5th – 2 points
One point for every other starter.
At the end of the series the connections of the horse with the most points will get a bonus of $10,000, with $3,000 for second and $2,000 for third.
