Overport Lodge trainer Mark Jones was saddened by the passing of former Balcairn trainer Maurice Bailey at Burwood Hospital, Christchurch, recently.

The death of Peter Burns has saddened the harness racing industry New Zealand-wide.  

Otago harness racing lost one of its most successful trainers and drivers when Ali Malcolmson died in Dunedin on Sunday, aged 80.

Alan Gary Clarke (Clarkee) was born on November 18, 1958 to Harold and Ngaire Clarke. Growing up on Racecourse Road in Riccarton was the start of a passion for horses and horse racing for Alan and younger brother Steve.

Owen Crooks was a passionate horseman and entrepreneur from an early age.
